The 2025 505 Northvaal Championship was a great success. In typical spring fashion, the Vaaldam delivered and dished up a strong wind for the entire weekend. Gusts of up to 35 knots were measured on the race course but overall the wind was sailable and the race officer put on a great event.
Day 1, 4 races were sailed with the last one finishing just ahead of a thunderstorm. Racing was tight with positions changing regularly at the top with various teams fighting for top positions. Well done to all teams who participated.
Day 2 dawned with the promise of more breeze. The forecast moderated somewhat from earlier in the week with an average windspeed of 20 knots being recorded. Most 505s managed to complete the racing on the day and positions at the top changed regularly. A big well done to Team Biagio for winning the last race and to Team Aernd and Nieman for coming in second.
The next event is the Regatta at PSC on the 4th and 5th of October as well as the Boskop Open at the end of October 2025. See you on the water!
